We’ve put together an enticing list of hands-on Healdsburg experiences with everything from an authentic Italian wine cave dinner to a pastry making class at a popular local bakery with a history reaching back almost a century. Hone your wine blending skills with a winemaker-led class, explore our stunning countryside on a guided trail run or hunt for garden treasures in a foraged floral design class at an organic flower farm. Book a Tastemaker Weekend experience and receive a lodging discount! Wine Country Walking Tours - The Healdsburg Tastemaker Tour

Meet the Tastemakers of Healdsburg on the this delicious evening rendezvous. Experience Wine Country up close and personal by meeting intimately with the chefs, winemakers, culinary artisans and artists who are leading the latest trends in the charming town of Healdsburg, a haven for wine, food, and the arts. These intimate, in-depth glimpses of how Healdsburg’s remarkable food and wine culture functions behind the scenes can be enlightening. By bringing you into the kitchens and studios and by introducing you to the very people who craft food or wine or art for the worlds’ enjoyment, we hope to enhance your understanding and love for wine country and all it is able to produce.

Costeaux Pastry Class

SOLD OUT! Join Will Seppi, president and CEO of Costeaux French Bakery, and Head Pastry Chef Karah Williams for an afternoon working with Pâte à Choux, a classic light pastry dough. The dough made simply of butter, water, flour and eggs is versatile for both savory and sweet applications, and attendees will have a hands-on opportunity to make and bake with it. The class takes place behind the scenes at Costeaux French Bakery & Cafe in downtown Healdsburg. Price includes apron, recipes, and champagne reception following the class. $10 of every ticket also supports future tastemakers in the culinary program at Healdsburg High School.

Breathless Wines Tour and Sabrage

Join Breathless proprietor Sharon Cohn for a multifaceted immersion in the world of sparkling wine. Over the course of the session, you’ll tour the winery, learn all about the winemaking process, and master the art of sabering open a bottle.(For those scoring at home, technically the process is called “sabrage.”) Each attendee receives a bottle of wine and a wine-tasting; $10 of every ticket also supports future tastemakers in the culinary program at Healdsburg High School.

High Tea at Jordan Vineyard & Winery

SOLD OUT! Relax by the fire in the chicest of formal dining rooms, where the British tradition of high tea makes its debut at Jordan. The recently remodeled Jordan Dining Room offers a warm and stately backdrop for wine tasting with an array of tea sandwiches and petit fours, and Jordan Executive Chef Todd Knoll’s beautiful foraged tea service.

A. Rafanelli and Baci Wine Cave Dinner

SOLD OUT! Join Shelly Rafanelli-Fehlman, winemaker at A. Rafanelli Winery, for an epic night of Italian epicurean bliss. The experience begins with a welcome to the family winery, one of the oldest in the entire Dry Creek Valley. Next you’ll enjoy appetizers and library wines from the cellar. Dinner will follow in the private caves, hosted by Baci, one of Healdsburg's renowned Italian restaurants. Throughout the night, Rafanelli-Fehlman will regale attendees with stories about her family, now in its fifth generation in town. Dress warmly, and rest assured that $10 of every ticket will support future tastemakers in the culinary program at Healdsburg High School.

Alley 6 Distillery Class and Tasting

SOLD OUT! Join Jason Jorgenson, co-founder and head distiller at Alley 6, for a crash-course in spirit-making and mixology. You’ll go behind the scenes at the Alley 6 distillery to learn how spirits are made, sample some of those spirits, and use them to make cocktails of your own. Each attendee receives cocktails, nibbles, and a personally hand-dipped wax top Rye Whiskey to take home. $10 of every ticket supports future tastemakers in the culinary program at Healdsburg High School.

Cook with Local Winemakers at Relish

SOLD OUT! Cook side-by-side with talented Healdsburg winemakers at this ultimate Tastemaker experience! Each of four local winemakers will work with a small group to cook a seasonal dish perfectly paired with one of his or her favorite wines. Then guests and winemakers sit for a family-style feast of all the dishes and wines.

Mateo's South of the Border Class and Lunch

Join Chef Mateo Granados as he heats it up in his Yucatan-inspired restaurant kitchen for a one-of-a-kind cooking class. You’ll learn how to make certified organic masa tortillas, slow-braised French Poulet with seasonal vegetables, and aromatic baked rice. When the lesson is over, attendees get to eat the food for lunch, along with seasonal margaritas or non-alcoholic aguas fresca. Each ticket includes $10 to support future tastemakers in the culinary program at Healdsburg High School.

Dragonfly Foraged Design Class

Join the team from Dragonfly on a whimsical, art-inspired journey into the winter garden. Don winter foraging attire and take clippers out into the 6-acre organic floral farm to collect materials such as moss-covered branches, willows, and late-harvest flowers. Once you have amassed a collection, Pam Bell, director of Dragonfly’s floral school, will advise on putting it all together, providing insight into the art of natural design. Attendees receive materials, supplies, hot tea, cheese and chocolate. Also, $10 of every ticket supports future tastemakers in the culinary program at Healdsburg High School.

Relish Wild Mushroom Foray and Lunch

SOLD OUT! Learn the fundamentals of edible wild mushroom foraging and then, after working up an appetite from our tromp in the beautiful woods, we'll gather back at the Relish Culinary Center for a cooking demonstration. We'll cook up any edibles we find along with our amazing four-course mushroom lunch served with perfectly paired wines from Passalacqua Winery.

Painting and Pizzas

Join art instructors Sandi McCubbin and Phyllis Rapp in a fun class with a delicious reward. Learn and apply watercolor techniques through two rounds of painting sessions. Instructors will provide suggestions and assistance throughout. No painting skills required! Tickets include all art supplies, two mimosas per person sponsored by J Winery, and wood-fired pizza from Haydon Street Inn's pizza oven. What’s more, $10 of every ticket supports future tastemakers in the culinary program at Healdsburg High School.
